Lighted Love Sign

Lighted Love Sign

The holidays are over and there's a sort of emptiness in the house compared to when we had the Christmas tree, garland and soft glow of lights.  I wanted to make something that would create that feeling again.  This lighted love sign does just that! It shouts good vibes and gives the glow we need to get through the first half of the year :-)

Here's what you'll need:

  • Pallet and Light kit (from Michaels Craft Store)
  • Multi-Surface Acrylic Craft Paint in a color that matches your decor. I used the color cloud from the Martha Stewart Crafts paint line.
  • Painters or stencil tape
  • Stencil Brush

STEP 1: Take your pallet and light kit apart.  Put the lights aside and grab the pallet and stencil that's included in the kit.

STEP 2: You can sand the pallet if you like but I prefer a more rustic look so I left mine as is.

STEP 3: Position your stencil on the pallet so that it lines up with the pre-drilled holes and tape it in place.

STEP 4: Apply paint to the stencil making sure to offload the brush before applying the first coat to prevent any paint run-under. Immediately remove the stencil once complete and let dry.

STEP 5: Now, guide the lights into the pre-drilled holes.

STEP 6: Light it up and enjoy!
